On March 11, 2016, Lieutenant Anthony Bossi, Patrolman John Gantert and Patrolman Justin Seckendorf responded to a call of an unresponsive woman at a Central Avenue residence. All three officers began CPR and rescue breathing before emergency medical services were on scene. According to Police Chief Mike Allen, the actions of the officers eventually led to the woman regaining consciousness before being transported to the hospital. “Ultimately, the victim regained a pulse and they led the victim to the hospital,” Chief Allen said. “If it weren’t for your actions, the results wouldn’t have been what they were.” Chief Allen said he was alerted to their exemplary actions by the Frisbie Hospital Emergency Medical Services Department. He also praised the working relationship the police have with both the EMS and Fire Department. “The teamwork is incredible,” the chief said. “It doesn’t happen everywhere where EMT, Fire, and Police work so well together. I’m very proud of that.” This was the third Lifesaving Award Lieutenant Bossi has received with the department. Patrolman Seckendorf received his second award, as did Patrolman Gantert. Chief Allen said it was “pretty remarkable” for these officers to receive multiple awards of this type in their career. “I’ve been with the department for 29 years and have never been faced with a situation like these men have,” Chief Allen said. “It goes to show the commitment, dedication and professionalism they have to this city and department, and I couldn’t be prouder.

The history of law enforcement in the United States is a long and wonderful history of bravery. This website is dedicated to documenting the heroic deeds of law enforcement officers throughout the United States who have either given or risked their lives to save others. There are many stories of bravery and heroism for many who are considered first responders. However, it is those in law enforcement who are most likely to be the first to arrive upon a location requiring life saving acts engaging dangerous hostage takers, running into burning buildings/vehicles, providing first aid to seriously injured victims, saving near drowning victims and much more are what the women and men of law enforcement do routinely and at many times, great peril to their own safety.
It is our mission to document the history of lives saved by those dedicated women and men in law enforcement. To share with others the dramatic deeds of those individuals who are the first, first responders. It is so important for our citizens to understand that law "enforcement" is not always about enforcing the law but rather being there when our citizens need us.
It is to this end we are dedicated to promoting documentation regarding the history of law enforcement and the lives they have saved.
